Would it be possible to mask out this flower including the tiny hairs? Thanks.

Hi Herald
Have you tried using color range. Since you have a grey background this could be an option.
If you are just thinking of changing the background then just add the new background and put it under the main layer and change the main layer from normal to overlay. This should work as you have a grey background.
